Owner Autonomy · for business owners with a team
Your business still depends on you.We build AI employees that take over your processes.
Inquiries, quotes, approvals, reports: in your business, everything crosses your desk. Your team waits for you, and a week off is out of the question. Together with you and your team, we build AI employees that start your key processes on their own, see them through to the end and report back to you. The goal: your team only approves. One process at a time.
Founded by Kevin Welter. He runs his own business with 14 AI employees.
The goal
Your core processes run. Your team only approves.
A process is done when it starts without a nudge, runs through to the end and sends you a report: what's done, what's still open, where there's an exception. You read the report and only step in where you're actually needed.
“You shouldn't have to think about it anymore. It should simply get done, and at the end you get a report on it.”

Where it often starts
- Answering and sorting inquiries
- Preparing quotes
- Creating content
- Bookkeeping prep
- Pulling reports together
The test: a week away
In the end, this is how we measure whether it holds up: you're away for a week, and the business keeps running. You get there level by level, and for every process you can see where it currently stands.
The method
Hire AI like staff and lead it like a team
Maybe you already use ChatGPT. But nothing runs as a system yet. With us, every AI employee is hired like a new member of staff: with a job description, a trial task and a permanent position. After that, it's led like a team, with fixed rules, reports and review steps.
1. Job description
Role, tasks, permissions and limits are put in writing, along with a contact person on your team. That settles what the AI employee may do and what it must never do.
2. Trial task
First, we watch your team at work. Then we train the AI employee, every variant once, with someone sitting right next to it. It's only signed off after several clean runs and a period in which your team watches alongside it.
3. Permanent position
Once it's signed off, it starts on its own, on a fixed schedule or when something comes in. It works through to the end and sends you a report after every run.
One process at a time
It all starts with a map of every recurring process in your business: who does what, how often, and how long it takes. From that map, we pick the process that saves the most time or money, or brings in the most revenue. Only once it's running does the next one follow.
We define every process by five points:
- Trigger: What starts it, a fixed schedule or an event, such as an incoming email.
- Start: What exactly is on the table when the work begins.
- Work: The steps, for each variant separately.
- End: How you can tell the process is finished, and what it has produced.
- Reporting: What you get at the end. Without a report, you end up following up yourself, and you're back to managing every step.
Plus an escalation path
If the AI employee is unsure, it sends the case to a person on your team. In a feedback session, the AI employee is trained on the new variant, and it's saved as a rule.
The four autonomy levels
Every process climbs four levels
For every process, you can see which level it's on. Once a month, we look at it together and decide what comes next.
Our mark is an arch of four stones, one for each autonomy level. Only with all four in place does it carry itself, and that is how we build every process.
- Autonomy Level 1
Assisted
The AI employee does its task when someone starts it, and your team checks every run.
- GuaranteeAutonomy Level 2
Autopilot
It starts on its own on a schedule or trigger, runs through to the final report and hands anything uncertain to a person.
- Autonomy Level 3
Audited
An AI manager reviews its work and bundles the reports, so you only see the exceptions.
- Autonomy Level 4
Autonomous
The process has passed the week-away test and keeps running even when you're away for a week.
The levels apply to AI employees that take over processes. AI employees you develop ideas and concepts with keep working with you in conversation.
The proof
First in Kevin's own business, then in yours
Kevin Welter runs his business with 14 AI employees: content, SEO, video editing, bookkeeping prep, leads and email. Each one has a personnel file, a fixed role and clear limits. An AI manager reviews their work; that role is still on trial. He tries new levels in his own business first, before they come to yours.
clicks from Google Search for kevinwelter.com in 28 days (Sep 2 to Sep 29, 2026). In the 28 days before, it was 88. The site is looked after by an AI SEO employee.
Example: a tax advisory firm
At a tax advisory firm, the first process was filing incoming digital tax assessment notices; notices that arrived on paper were added after that. First, Kevin watched the office team: which types of assessment there are and how each one gets filed. Then the AI employee was trained, one type of assessment at a time, with someone sitting next to it. A second AI employee checks the inbox on a fixed schedule, spots the emails with paper notices and hands them over. After clean trial runs and a period of side-by-side monitoring, filing runs on its own and reports back with a completion email. Anything the filing employee can't match with certainty goes to the office team by email, and the AI employee is trained on it afterwards.
Both processes are at Autonomy Level 2, Autopilot (as of September 2026).

The founder
Kevin Welter
Kevin is a developer and IT architect. He worked as a self-employed software developer for large companies, wrote the book “Kubernetes: Practical Guide for Developers and DevOps Teams” (Rheinwerk Computing) and has earned all five CNCF Kubernetes certifications.
Today, he runs his own business with 14 AI employees. In his community Claude Practitioners, with 98 members (as of September 30, 2026), he shows solo business owners how to hire their first AI employee. With Owner Autonomy, he works with businesses that have a team, building AI employees that take over entire processes and report back, one process at a time.

How it works
How Owner Autonomy works
You work directly with Kevin. Every month has a clear goal.
Month 1: The first process
Together with your team, we map your processes, pick process no. 1, define it by the five points, train the AI employee and sign it off. Goal: it starts on its own and reports back with a completion email.
Month 2: Processes as a team
Goal: process no. 2 comes on board. Where a task passes through several steps, the AI employees hand it off to each other, just like at the tax advisory firm, from the inbox to filing.
Month 3: Leadership and autonomy
Goal: an AI manager bundles the reports into a morning report and flags exceptions. Then comes the test: a week without you. Kevin tries this level in his own business first, before it comes to yours.
Month 4 onward: the next process
Every month, the next process on your map is up. On top of that, you get whatever Kevin is currently testing in his own business.
What you get
- A 60-minute 1:1 with Kevin every week, working on your real processes, with you and the person on your team who looks after the AI employees.
- A weekly group call with the other businesses in your cohort.
- A private community with lessons and worksheets, phase by phase.
- Answers to your questions in the community within 24 hours on business days.
- Ready-made AI employees as building blocks.
- Access to the Claude Practitioners community for your entire time in the program.
- Templates and code you keep.
- No minimum term.
The guarantee
Our guarantee for processes no. 1 and 2
If your processes no. 1 and no. 2 aren't running on Autopilot after 90 days, Kevin keeps working with you at no extra cost, as long as you keep the agreement:
- You come to the 1:1 every week.
- You complete the agreed actions before the next 1:1.
- You name one person on your team who looks after the AI employees with you.
- You post your progress in the community every week.
What Autopilot means
The process starts on its own, on a fixed schedule or triggered by an event, and runs through to the final report without a nudge. That's Autonomy Level 2. Within the first two weeks, we agree in writing which processes are no. 1 and no. 2.
Spots
Five spots to start
For the first round, we're taking on five businesses. We work with no more than ten at a time, each with a weekly 1:1 with Kevin.
[PLATZHALTER: application deadline for the first round, per Backbone Sunday, October 18, 2026. Only show while it's in the future, then remove the line.]
[PLATZHALTER: open spots, e.g. „3 of 5 spots left“. Only with a real number from Kevin, otherwise leave the line out.]
Next step
Which process would be no. 1 for you?
On the call, we look at whether Owner Autonomy is a fit for your business and which process is worth starting with. Spots are filled through these calls. That's also where we go over how it works and what it costs.
